I was a child who felt everything
— and was told not to.
Then I became a leader who felt everything — and was told there was no room for it in the boardroom.
"Finding your way home takes courage and practice. But once you arrive — back into your body's wisdom — you won't want to leave."
— Dagmara AldridgeSo I did what ambitious people do. I worked hard. I got logical. I climbed toward the C-suite like it was the finish line. And when I finally got close enough to touch it — it wasn't what I thought it would be.
That's when my real education began.
I grew up as the strong one. The capable one. The one who didn't need help, because help was scarce and others needed it more. I went out into the world and did well. Really well. Collected the grades, the jobs, the titles. Each one a proof of something. But all those feelings I'd been holding had to go somewhere.
My coaching journey started with neuroscience. And neuroscience led me to emotional intelligence, which cracked something open. Because here's what the data actually says: we are not walking brains on legs. Our bodies hold intelligence. They influence how we think, how we decide, how we show up — whether we're paying attention to that or not.
Then I joined the Somatic School. And everything changed. Through six months of the most extraordinary training, I found my way back to myself. To this wonderful bodymind of mine. To all the wisdom that had been patiently waiting, for 45 years, to be heard.
It felt like homecoming.
So I left. I walked away from the C-suite, from the performance, from the pretence. I remember the relief. The unfurling. Lying under the Greek sun, feeling my body uncurl, cell by cell, getting larger — knowing I no longer had to be complicit in something that felt hollow.
I left to arrive at myself. At long last.
In a world of artificial intelligence, your body is the edge.
When you stop treating your body like a vehicle for your head
and start treating it as a source of data — something shifts. You burn out less. You lead better. You actually enjoy the life you worked so hard to build.
AI can out-think, out-analyse, out-process
most of what we used to call cognitive work. Embodied intelligence is what remains uniquely human. It's the one thing AI doesn't have. Can't have.
Your body's wisdom isn't a soft skill.
It's your edge. The question is whether you're paying attention to it.
